McCafferty nominated to federal bench to succeed McAuliffe

CONCORD - Federal magistrate Landya McCafferty has been nominated to the position of judge at U.S. District Court in Concord.

If confirmed by the U.S. Senate, McCafferty would succeed Judge Stephen McAuliffe, who is retiring.

McCafferty has been a federal magistrate since 2010. She also worked as an attorney for the New Hampshire Public Defender and spent more than six years as counsel for the Attorney Discipline Office.

The White House announced McCafferty's nomination on Thursday.
