NHIAA Roundup: BG girls’ tennis team sweeps Pinkerton

The top-seeded Cardinals, who are the three-time defending champs, won 9-0. They got 8-0 wins from Jen Dai, Lauren Hayward and Liz DiCesare in individual action as they cruised to victory. Pinkerton was the eighth seed and ends its season at 10-5. Bishop Guertin will take on No. 5 Exeter on Friday in Nashua.
Exeter 15, South 10: In Nashua, Galen Antolino, Donny Litzelman and Jimmy Young each scored four goals as the Blue Hawks (11-6) beat the Purple Panthers (6-9) in Division I play. Dan Auger scored five goals an added one assist for South.
John Child netted two for West (6-9), while Joe Clement, Jared Camire and Zach Ziemba all had one apiece. Tyler Tambouris scored four goals for Trinity (7-7) and Will Towner netted two.
Bedford 15, Goffstown 5: In Goffstown, the Bulldogs remained perfect with a win over the Grizzlies on Wednesday.
Londonderry 19, Nashua North 8: At Londonderry, Rob Hart collected four goals and two assists to lead the Londonderry offense in this Division I victory. The Lancers, who used three goalkeepers, outscored North 6-1 in the second quarter.
Bow 13, Keene 3: At Keene, Ellen Malloy scored two goals for Keene in its final regular-season game. Payton Wilhelm also scored for the Blackbirds, who received three saves from Courtney Laperierre.
Central 3, Salem 2: In Manchester, Zach Parker went the distance on the mound for the Little Green (4-13) and held the Blue Devils (6-13) to just five hits to pick up the win on Wednesday.
Parker struck out four and walked two while Nick Makers drove in two on offense for Central. Nick Shumski had two RBI for Salem.
Londonderry 11, Merrimack 6: At Londonderry, Brett Evangelista collected three hits, and Rob Del Signor, Mike Ryan and Colby Joncus each had two as the Lancers secured the No. 1 seed for the Division I tournament. Merrimack’s Taylor Blac had two hits and an RBI.
Pembroke 8, Plymouth 5: At Plymouth, Shane St. Onge pitched four innings to collect the win and also hit a home run in this contest, which was shortended to six innings by rain. Seth Gonya and Mike Barnum each had two hits for the Spartans.
Exeter 3, Bedford 2: At Exeter, Ethan Joyce tossed a complete game and held Bedford to four hits as the Blue Hawks rebounded from Monday’s 16-run loss to Londonderry.
Pinkerton 3, Winnacunnet 1: In Derry, Sam Hennequin was sharp on the mound for the Astros as they downed the Warriors on Wednesday.
Hennequin struck out nine, scattered four hits and walked none. Kinsey Manchester had two hits for Pinkerton (8-9) and Lauren Phillips drove in two runs. Kali Hume had two hits and an RBI for Winnacunnet (5-12).
Trinity 19, Hanover 2: In Norwich, Vt., Katie Pelton fanned six batters in five innings. Jenna Nalette led the offense with two doubles and three RBIs. Allie Bowe and Abbie Proulx each drove in three runs for Trinity (9-7).
Goffstown 3, Merrimack Valley 0: At Goffstown, Haeli Campbell struck out eight and Jen Cashin had two singles as Goffstown completed the Division II regular season with a 13-5 record. Campbell walked three and held Merrimack Valley to four hits.
