Answers sought after bomb squad leaves Fitzwilliam

FITZWILLIAM — An incident that brought the state bomb squad to a Perry Road home Sunday is still under investigation, police said Tuesday afternoon.

A resident on Perry Road called the police department around 1:30 p.m. to report that what looked like explosive devices were inside their home, Fitzwilliam police Sgt. Len DiSalvo said Tuesday.

The resident was evacuated and other residents in the neighborhood were told to stay inside their homes as the N.H. State Police’s Explosives Disposal Unit was brought in to handle the situation.

“It was later determined they were deemed not hazardous,” DiSalvo said, however, it appears the devices were intended to be explosive or hazardous in some way.

DiSalvo said it is unclear at this point how or why the devices were in the home, but there are some suspects who are not residents of the town.

“There are a few people that are being looked into,” he said.

DiSalvo declined to say more saying the matter is being actively investigated by town and state police.
