Mass. man charged in Nashua hit-and-run

NASHUA – A Massachusetts man is under arrest, accused in a hit-and-run crash Monday afternoon on Canal Street.

Thyarls De Souza, 25, of 530 Willard St., Quincy, is charged with conduct after an accident and operating a motor vehicle without a valid license.

The rear-end collision happened about 3:40 p.m. near 49 Canal St.

Police said damage to the two vehicles was minor although the driver of the vehicle that was rear-ended was taken to the hospital for treatment of minor injuries.

The driver of the second vehicle, who police identified as De Souza, allegedly fled the scene.

What's next: De Souza is currently being held at the Nashua Police Department on $7,500 cash/surety bail pending arraignment Tuesday in 9th Circuit Court, Nashua District Division.
