Palace kitchen tour June 2Leanne and Peter Gould's Bedford kitchen is one of eight in Bedford and Amherst that will be open to visitors on the Palace Theatre's ninth annual kitchen tour on Sunday, June 2, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
In addition to the tour, sponsored by Granite State Cabinetry, an open seating luncheon catered by O Steaks and Seafood will be available between 11:30 a.m. and 3 p.m. at sponsor Baron's Major Brands in Manchester.
Following the tour, LaBelle Winery in Amherst will present an after-party from 4 to 6 p.m. featuring wine tastings presented with paired appetizers.
Tickets are $45 per person in advance or $50 if purchased on the day of tour. For tickets and more information call the Palace box office at 668-5588 or visit palacetheatre.org.
And while there's a full-sized stainless refrigerator on one side of the room, there's a small beverage cooler beneath the counter on the other side of the room so the kids can grab drinks and go.
There are two standout appliances in the Gould's kitchen that reflect the trends Rifkin and Shakra are seeing in kitchen design: an induction stovetop, and a drawer microwave built into the island.
And Shakra said the microwave, which slides out like a drawer, allows homeowners to make use of otherwise neglected spaces in a kitchen.
