Mass. residents charged after Hollis man beaten and stabbed

HOLLIS - Three Massachusetts residents face multiple felony charges after allegedly impersonating police and attacking a Hollis man in his mobile home early Friday morning.

Hollis police received a 911 call about 2 a.m. from an unidentified 41-year-old resident reporting  people attempting to break into his Mooar Hill Road residence.

The victim stayed on the phone as intruders attacked him, police said. The victim was able to  get free and made a second 911 call.

Hollis Police Chief James Sartell said the injured man was located at a neighbor's home. He was taken to St. Joseph's Hospital in Nashua with multiple stab wounds, lacerations and blunt trauma injuries.

The victim remained hospitalized Friday afternoon. He was being treated for injuries considered serious, though not life-threatening, police said.

Police arrested Lowell, Mass., residents Cynthia Nagele, 57, Ralph Doucette, 53, and Paul Carbonneau, 43. Nagele was arrested at the scene, Doucette and Carbonneau were apprehended a short time later.

Police said the men claimed to be police officers before assaulting the victim.

Police said Nagele attacked the victim with multiple weapons including a hammer and knife. She faces first-degree assault and burglary charges, both Class A felonies, and simple assault, a Class A misdemeanor.

Doucette and Carbonneau face felony charges of burglary as well as misdemeanor charges of simple assault and impersonation of a police officer.

Bail was set at $25,000 cash for Nagele and $15,000 cash for Carbonneau. Doucette refused the services of a bail commissioner. They will be arraigned in the Nashua Circuit Court on Monday morning.
