Portsmouth plans sobriety checkpoints

PORTSMOUTH — Police will conduct sobriety checkpoints throughout the summer beginning this weekend.

Portsmouth Police Chief Stephen J. DuBois announced the checkpoints on Monday.

Police said sobriety checkpoints have proven successful in the apprehension of drunk drivers in Portsmouth, and they are confident the upcoming checkpoints will be no exception.
