May 14. 2013 10:34AM

NASHUA - A city man is under arrest, accused of attempting to rob one store Sunday night and robbing a second one about 40 minutes later.

Ronald Fitzpatrick, 45, of 16 E. Pearl St., Apt. 2, was arrested early Tuesday morning and charged with two counts of robbery, both class B felonies.

Police said about 5:35 p.m. Sunday, a man walked into Headlines Boutique on East Hollis Street and demanded money from the cash register. He fled before getting any cash.

About 6:15 p.m., however, a man fitting the same description robbed a Temple Street business. Police did not identify the establishment in a news release.

In that case, the man entered the store, demanded money from the cash register and fled with an undisclosed amount of money and some other merchandise as well.

Police said investigators determined Fitzpatrick was responsible for both incidents and arrested him just after 2:30 a.m. Tuesday.

What's next: Fitzpatrick is being detained on $10,000 cash/surety bail pending arraignment Tuesday in 9th Circuit Court, Nashua District Division.
