May 13. 2013 2:58PM

NASHUA - Walner Rodriguez, 19, is the man police arrested early Sunday morning in connection with a stabbing that occurred during a brawl outside the Polish-American Club late Saturday night.

Rodriguez of 501 Brook Village Road, Apt. 1, was arrested at 1:02 a.m. Sunday and charged with three counts of first-degree assault, all class A felonies.

Police did not release the name of the 18-year-old man who he is accused of stabbing in the back, chest and arm. The injured man was transported to Southern New Hampshire Medical Center for treatment of injuries police say are not life-threatening.

The brawl, which witnesses said involved close to 100 people, happened outside the club on School Street.

Police arrived about 12:35 a.m. to find dozens of people fighting in the middle of the street and one man stabbed. Investigators said the fight began inside the club as a yelling match and escalated to a fight outside the club.

Lt. Michael Moushegian said Rodriguez and the injured man are acquaintances. Police said witnesses described the scene as chaotic, with people and beer bottles being hurled through the air.

Police also arrested Argenys Rodriguez, 20 of 501 Brook Village Road, Nashua, and charged him with disorderly conduct, assault on a police officer and resisting arrest, all class A misdemeanors. Police said they warned Argenys Rodriguez to stop yelling and attempting to fight with others, and they say he continued and pushed an officer in the chest. Officers attempted to place Argenys Rodrigues into custody, but he pulled away from officers and refused to comply with lawful orders, according to a report of the incident.

The Polish American Club rents out upstairs space for parties, banquets and private functions. On Saturday night, police said the room was rented by a softball league for an awards banquet.

What's next: Walner Rodriguez is being held on $50,000 cash/surety bail pending arraignment Monday in 9th Circuit Court, Nashua District Division. Argenys Rodrigues was bailed and will appear in the 9th Circuit Court, Nashua District Division, on May 30.
