Nashua police investigate two armed robberies

NASHUA -- Police are investigating reports of two armed robberies that occurred about 45 minutes apart in the Gate City Sunday afternoon.
Sgt. Kerry Baxter said the first robbery came in at 5:30 p.m. in a call from Headlines, 37 East Hollis St. The caller reported that a heavy-set man, possibly in his late 30s and wearing a Red Sox cap backwards, robbed the store. The man claimed to be armed.
At 6:15 p.m. a call came in from the Temple Street Market, 59 Temple St., of an armed robbery. Baxter did not have information regarding a suspect in that case, and said Sunday night it was too early in the investigation to say whether the two robberies were connected.
Police did not release information last night regarding any possible weapons used or shown. No injuries were reported.
