NHIAA Roundup: BG boys show balance against Londonderry

Ten players scored goals for Bishop Guertin of Nashua in its 13-4 victory over host Londonderry in a Division I boys' lacrosse battle on Thursday. Tom Hurley led the way with three goals, while Alex Astarita scored two goals with one assist. The Cardinals (11-3) stormed to an 8-1 halftime lead. Londonderry (7-5) was led by Nick Yennaco's one goal and two assists. Lancers goalie Chris Gersh stayed busy in net, making 18 saves.

Souhegan 17, Manchester Central 4: In Amherst, Mitch Hale scored three times for the 6-4 Sabers. Mack Walker had a four-point game with two goals and two assists. Central (2-7) was led by Jack McCormack with two goals.

Pinkerton 13, Nashua South 4: In Derry, Pinkerton (12-1) built a 7-1 halftime lead against 3-7 Nashua South. Jake Lisauskas led the Astros with five goals. South was paced by Pat Goff with two assists.

Exeter 15, Concord 7: At Concord, the Blue Hawks poured it on in the second half, and Galen Antolino finished with five goals and two assists. Exeter (7-5) held a one-goal lead at halftime. Adam Hale and Jim Young each had five-point games for the winners.

Derryfield 21, West 1: At Manchester, Grant Alenson and Matt Milne each had five goals as Derryfield (12-0) rolled to victory against West on Thursday. Milne raised his season totals to 52 goals and 31 assists. Derryfield goalie Mitch Green (12 saves) and West goalie Talia Cote (11 saves) each played strong in net. John Child scored for the Blue Knights (3-8).



Girls' lacrosse



Plymouth 13, Merrimack Valley 5: At Penacook, Kenady Kelly and Hailey Crowell scored hat tricks as Plymouth (7-3) picked up another win in Division III. Hannah John led Merrimack Valley (2-8) with two goals and one assist. Pride goalie Maddy Jaquith denied 14 shots.



Baseball



Derryfield 17, Hinsdale 6: In Manchester, Max Hatheway collected four hits and six RBIs for the Cougars (6-4). Chris Rizos added three hits and teammates Parker Blaisdell, Nick Regan, Noah Goldstein, Dom Cappadonna and Kyle Slevira each had two hits for the 6-4 Cougars against 0-11 Hinsdale.



Softball



Gilford 3, Somersworth 0: In Gilford, winning pitcher Sydney Strout struck out 12 while allowing two hits and a walk in the shutout. Abby Harris, Lisa Osborne and Strout each drove in a run for Gilford (10-1). Somersworth is 3-7.
