CHESTER - Most of the residents of Chester as well as a number of residents of Candia lost power for about three hours early Thursday morning due to a transformer fire on North Pond Road, according to fire chief Richard Antoine.
A tree fell across several primary power lines, causing the tree and a transformer to catch fire and knocking down several wires.
The fire department and repair crews responded, and power was back up to everyone as of 5:30 this morning, according to Antoine.
No one was hurt as a result of the transformer fire or downed lines.
