The second half of their most recent stay at Northeast Delta Dental Stadium was not nearly as successful.
New Hampshire lost three straight to New Britain, closing out the homestand with a 5-4 loss on Wednesday morning.
The Rock Cats came up with four runs in the top of the first ining off starter Marcus Walden, tacked on the winning run in the top of the fifth and then held on at the end.
In the first, Daniel Ortiz knocked in two runs with a double, Danny Santana scored one with a single and Reynaldo Rodriguez scored on a passed ball.
New Hampshire got one back in the third inning when Kevin Ahrens led off with a double and Jack Murphy singled to drive him in.
Ortiz's two-out home run to right field in the fifth inning provided just enough cushion for the Rock Cats.
John Tolisano singled to score Amadeo Zazueta, who had reached on an error, to cut it to 5-2 in the bottom of the fifth.
Zazueta singled to knock in Murphy and then scored on Tolisano's double to cut the lead to one in the bottom of the seventh.
Bobby Lanigan, who had replaced starter Pat Dean earlier in the inning, struck out Ryan Schimpf to end the threat.
Nashua native Kevn Nolan singled with two outs to put the tying run on base in the bottom of the ninth. But the game ended on a Kevin Pillar fly out to right.
The Fisher Cats fell to 15-19. New Britain is 18-15.
Deck McGuire (1-3, 5.34) starts a four-game roadtrip at Trenton tonight at 7:05. The Fisher Cats are in Trenton through Sunday, are off on Monday and then face the Portland Sea Dogs for the first time this season in a three-game set at Northeast Delta Dental beginning on Tuesday night.
Pillar, Tolisano and Murphy each had two of the nine New Hampshire hits.
Walden allowed eight hits and all five runs, four of them earned, in his four and two-thirds innings.
