Windham economic development panel adds fresh faces

WINDHAM - The Windham Economic Development Committee has a few new faces.

On Monday night, the Board of Selectmen interviewed six candidates before adjourning to a nonpublic session. Bruce Breton and Jim Coburn were later appointed to three-year-terms and Susan Denopoulos to a two-year term.

Incumbent committee member Ralph Valentine was appointed to serve another three-year term.

Breton, who retired from the Board of Selectmen earlier this spring after completing three terms, currently serves on the board of the Windham Taxpayers Coalition.

Coburn previously served as a Republican state representative and ran for governor in 2006, while Denopoulos is the acting administrator of the Warde Health Center nursing home and assisted living facility in Windham.

Two other candidates, Michael Oldenburg and Ruth-Ellen Post, weren't selected for the committee.

The Windham Economic Development Committee meets the second Friday of each month at 7:30 p.m. in the Community Development room at Windham Town Hall.
