Suspended NH doctor says he was helping patients battle addiction

Schorsch, who represented himself at a January hearing, said the Vermont is too focused on technical procedures and didn’t understand the breadth of the opiate addict “war zone” that his Lebanon, N.H., practice was trying to address. “I believe that this stuff should be available just like condoms, just like reading glasses,” Schorsch was quoted in the board’s order as telling the panel. “If it turns out I am judged harshly for what I am unwilling to do rather than judged appreciatively for what I have been able to do, then that’s where we will have to leave things.”
