Manchester home burglarized as residents do yard work

MANCHESTER - Residents of a Somerville Street residence spent time doing yard work at their home Saturday afternoon and returned inside to discover they had been robbed.

Police said the residents came back in the house about 3:30 p.m. to find a laptop and digital camera had been taken while they were outside.

The residents speculated that the burglar was able to access the home by walking in the unlocked front door, according to police. The laptop and camera were in the front room and easily accessible from the front door, police said.

Manchester police are advising residents that with the warmer weather, they should be mindful that screen windows and doors pose more security risks.

Anyone with information about this incident is encouraged to contact the Manchester Police Department at 668-8711. Anonymous tips for cash rewards may be made through Manchester Crimeline at 624-4040 or online at manchestercrimlein.org.
