NH College Roundup: Evans in Pats' rookie camp

According to a report on ESPNBoston.com, former University of New Hampshire linebacker Matt Evans is among the players at the New England Patriots' rookie minicamp this weekend.

Evans, a Hanover, Mass., native, is one of five former UNH players to have his number retired, joining running back Bill Burnham, running back Jerry Azumah, wide receiver David Ball and quarterback Ricky Santos.

"To be out there on the field with the Patriots' logo obviously means a lot to him," Evans' agent Abu Toppin told ESPNBoston.com. "It's been a lifelong dream of Matt's to have this opportunity."

Earlier this week Evans accepted an offer to attend the Philadelphia Eagles rookie minicamp later this month.

Evans led the Colonial Athletic Association with 126 tackles during his senior season. He also led the nation with 87 solo tackles.
