Two seriously injured in Laconia accident

LACONIA ? Two people suffered serious injuries in a car crash Sunday evening.


Police and fire personnel were dispatched to 2889 Parade Road at 4:49 p.m. on a report of a single-car crash. Police said a 30-year-old woman was driving a 2008 Honda Civic four-door sedan, heading south towards Laconia, when she lost control and veered to the east side of the road and crashed into a ditch.


The woman was extricated, while a 31-year-old male passenger was trapped in the vehicle. Power equipment was required to remove him.


Both victims were transported to Lakes Region General Hospital with serious injuries. Police did not release their names pending notification of their families.


The accident is under investigation. Anyone with information regarding the accident is asked to contact police at 524-5252.
