NHIAA Roundup: Souhegan, Trinity nines prevail

Michel Ehrenstein and Chandler MacKenzie each had a pair of hits, and Souhegan of Amherst played outstanding defense behind starting pitcher Connor Cinque to defeat Portsmouth, 9-4, in Division II baseball on Friday.
Cinque, a lefty, picked off two base runners and held the Clippers (4-2) to four runs on seven hits. Souhegan reliever Seth Learned entered in the fifth closed out the win for the Sabers, who improved to 2-4.
Trinity 10, Memorial 8: At Manchester, Alex Currier went 3-for-4 with two triples and Ryan Boldwin also tripled for host Trinity of Manchester. The Pioneers (5-4) rallied for seven runs in the first inning. Jacob Boylan went 3-for-4 to lead Memorial (2-6). Trinity starter Carmen Giampetruzzi pitched six innings, allowing six hits and notching eight strikeouts.
Kingswood 4, Pembroke 1: At Wolfeboro, starting pitcher Brad Riley stymied the Spartans, allowing only one hit as Kingswood won a battle in Division II. Shane St. Onge pitched into the seventh inning for Pembroke (4-2), allowing three runs on two hits. Kingswood improved to 2-3.
Merrimack 3, Exeter 2: At Merrimack, the Tomahawks scored three runs in the bottom of the sixth to erase a two-run deficit and improve their Division I record to 5-2. Evan McCormick went the distance on the mound for Merrimack.
ConVal 5, John Stark 2: At Weare, ConVal of Peterborough senior Taylor Doyle allowed only two runs in the fourth inning to earn the win. John Stark's Paul Montray gave up four runs in the first inning but went the distance, scattering eight hits. ConVal improved to 4-2, while Stark dropped to 1-3.
Timberlane 7, Central 3: At Plaistow, Josh David, Jamie Collins, Jake Cameron and Patrick Mahoney each had two hits and the Owls used four pitchers to improve to 3-6 in Division I. Timberlane scored five runs in the third.
Keene 10, Alvirne 2: At Keene, the Blackbirds scored in five of their six at-bats and Keene recorded a triple play to raise its Division I record to 2-5. Danny Brown, Dakota Williams and Mike Sirvydas each had two hits for Alvirne (3-4).
Goffstown 4, West 0: At Manchester, Tyler Perron pitched a complete game and held West to two hits, Perron struck out eight and also hit a three-run double. Goffstown, which improved to 7-1 in Division II, received two hits from Tim Riehl. West (0-6) received a complete-game performance from Nolan Flynn.
Nashua South 5, Bedford 4: At Nashua, Bedford starter Nick Angelini held the Purple Panthers scoreless until the fifth inning. Eric MacDonald, Andy Lalonde and Kyle Andersson all had multiple hits for Bedford (4-3). Nashua South improved to 4-4.
Salem 3, Pinkerton 0: At Salem, Matt Survilas tossed a three-hit shutout as the Blue Devils improved to 4-4 in Division I on Thursday. Survilas had four strikeouts and faced only 26 batters. Cleanup hitter Dominick Gigante went 3-for-3 with two RBIs for Salem.
Londonderry 6, Dover 2: At Dover, the Lancers erupted for six runs in the first inning and finished with a dozen hits against Dover. Londonderry starter Tom Corey worked six innings, allowing two runs on one hit. The Lancers won their third straight and improved to 5-3. Dover slipped to 2-6.
Bishop Guertin 8. Winnacunnet 2: At Hampton, sophomore Holly Kathios pitched a complete game and struck out six to help BG even its Division I record at 4-4.
Dover 9, Londonderry 6: At Londonderry, Ashley Deyo homered and had four hits as Dover went nine innings to defeat Londonderry, 9-6. Molly St. Germain and Kylie McFadden pitched for the Green Wave, holding Londonderry to seven hits. Summer Vose went 2-for-3 and scored twice for the Lancers (3-4), and teammate Cassidy Litch drove in two runs. Dover is 7-0.
Salem 6, Pinkerton 1: At Salem, Kaitlyn Arsenault went the distance while allowing only two hits. Salem improved to 6-1, while Pinkerton of Derry dropped to 2-5.
Windham 1, Milford 0: At Windham, junior starter Rachel Vafides tossed a shutout, striking out 12 and allowing just one hit. Windham improved to 6-2.
Windham 10, Plymouth 2: At Windham, Makenzie Magee had three hits and three RBIs, and Cailyn Costa, Michaela Hatem and Danielle Donovan all had big games on offense.
Bedford 6, Nashua South 5: At Bedford, Ashley Abad's RBI single in the bottom of the seventh drove in the game-winning run as Bedford improved to 4-2. Bedford trailed 5-0, but scored five runs in the sixth. Alex Haskell hit a three-run home run in the inning.
Londonderry 23, Nashua South 5: At Nashua, Julia Wasserman had three goals and four assists as the Lancers cruised to the road victory at Nashua South (0-4). Hannah Kearney and Maeve Holland each had four goals for LHS (3-4).
Nashua North 18, Salem 13: At Nashua, Kara Upton netted five goals for the Titans, and teammates Ellie Shuman and Jexi Williams each scored three times at Stellos Stadium on Friday. Nashua North improved to 3-4, while Salem dipped to 1-5.
Pinkerton 21, Central 3: At Manchester, Kennedy Daziel tore up the Central defense with five goals, and Pinkerton of Derry improved to 7-1 in Division I. Jordan McCown (two goals) and Sarah Thompson scored for Central, 2-2.
Derryfield 17, West 5: At Manchester, Grant Alenson scored four times and Matt Milne was a factor on six goals as the Cougars (7-0) stayed unbeaten. Zack Ziemba had two goals and two assists for West (1-4).
