Suspicious package causes scare in Milford

MILFORD — A suspicious package at the River Card Room gaming facility, which forced the evacuation of several stores at the Granite Town Plaza on Elm Street on Friday, turned out not to be an explosive device, police said.

Police responded to the card room shortly before 5 p.m. Friday and called in the Nashua Police Department bomb squad, which removed the package. The plaza was reopened about 7:30 p.m. Friday, police said.

Police did not identify what the package was.
