So, what’s the problem? Well, each year since, the legislature has voted to suspend this law and allocated a much smaller amount toward substance abuse. This year the legislature has allocated only $1.5 million. The legislature chooses to largely disregard substance abuse issues and removes millions of dollars from assisting our communities with these problems.
