NHIAA Roundup: Pinkerton pulls away from Hanover

Joshua Gallant scored three goals and added a pair of assists as Pinkerton of Derry outscored visiting Hanover 8-1 in the second half en route to an 11-5 victory Thursday in a Division I boys' lacrosse game between contenders.

Dominic Corsetto and Jake Lisauskas scored two goals each and Brett Dattilo won 17 of 19 faceoffs for the Astros, 7-1. Hanover dropped to 7-2.

Exeter 14, Manchester Central 7: In Manchester, Galen Antolino and Don Litzelman each scored four goals for 4-3 Exeter. Jeremy Mumford and Mike Cashman each had two goals for the winners. Connor Rowley and Julio Rincon each scored twice for Manchester Central (2-2).

Bishop Guertin 18, Nashua South 6: In Nashua, John Miller, Alex Astarita and Charlie O'Brien each scored two goals for the 7-2 Cardinals. Dan Auger scored four times for 1-4 South.

Londonderry 19, Salem 4: In Salem, Kyle Hussey scored five goals for the 5-1 Lancers. Lewis Carroll added three more to the winning cause. Salem fell to 1-5.

Souhegan 16, Memorial 1: In Manchester, Mack Walker scored one goal and added seven assists for 4-2 Souhegan. Mitch Hale and Blake Burnley each scored three goals for the Sabers. Brady McNaulty scored the lone goal for 0-5 Memorial.



Girls' lacrosse



Souhegan 19, Londonderry 8: In Amherst, Souhegan (5-1) was led by Madison Learned with five goals and three assists. Mickenzie Larivee added four goals and three assists while teammate Jocelyn Donohue added four goals to the win. Jesse Jay also had three goals and two assists in the win. For 2-4 Londonderry, Noelle Lambert had three goals and three assists.

Derryfield 16, Plymouth 8: Elsbeth Caulo scored four goals to lift the Cougars, 3-1.



Baseball



Goffstown 14, Milford 2: Kyle Indingaro highlighted an eight-run, sixth inning with a three-run double and Zack Storro followed with a three-run homer to lead Goffstown to a rout of host Milford in a Division II baseball contest on Wednesday.

The Grizzlies are off to a 6-1 start. Tyler Barss pitched into the fifth inning, giving up five hits with seven strikeouts. Pat Viviers had two of Goffstown's 10 hits in the six-inning affair, shortened because of the 10-run mercy rule. Milford dropped to 1-4.



Softball



Trinity 8, Hanover 7: In Manchester, freshman pitcher Alyssa Pascucci fanned seven Hanover batters for her first varsity win. Hannah Soares led Trinity with two hits. Katie Pelton, who struck out 21 batters against Plymouth earlier this week, got the save. She entered the game in the sixth inning and fanned five of the six batters she faced in the game.

Campbell 7, Conant 0: In Litchfield, Emily Paquin and Shelbie Trompke combined on a three-hit shutout for Campbell (5-1). Conant fell to 5-1.
