Dartmouth hires men's soccer, women's basketball coaches

Dartmouth College Athletics Director Harry Sheehy announced the new coaching hirings for women's basketball and men's soccer Monday.

Chad Riley will serve as the 10th head coach of the soccer program and Belle Koclanes will guide the basketball program.

Riley, who served as a top assistant coach at Dartmouth, replaces Jeff Cook, who left after 12 seasons to pursue a coaching opportunity with the Philadelphia Union of Major League Soccer.

Before arriving at Dartmouth, Riley served as an assistant coach for six years at his alma mater, the University of Notre Dame, under former Dartmouth head coach Bobby Clark.

Koclanes comes to Dartmouth following a two-year stint as an assistant coach at American University of the Patriot League. She was also recruiting coordinator at American, where she helped lead the Eagles to back-to-back winning records.

During her first season, American posted the first undefeated Patriot League record (14-0) in conference history.
