Granite Staters raise money for Boston Marathon bombing victims
Several fund-raising projects are focusing on local victims, including the Brassard family of Epsom, MBTA Officer Richard "Dic" Donahue, whose wife is from Exeter, and Rick Bauman, whose father and stepmother live in Concord.
Suzanne Walsh, who set up a Brassard Family Fund at TD Bank, said the family made a permanent move from Nashua to what had been a summer home in Epsom on Northwood Lake after Ron Brassard was laid off when the company where he'd worked for 30 years was bought.
"Thank heaven for COBRA," said Walsh, but there will be costs that aren't covered by health insurance. She said while Karen Brassard and their daughter, Krystara, are out of the hospital, Brassard is still in the hospital, hoping to come home next Wednesday.
Because of a skin graft on his leg, he can't put any weight on his left leg for four to six weeks, said Walsh. The family has a one-story house, which should help, but Brassard likes to be up and about.
"He'll growl like a bear," said Walsh, at the forced inactivity.
Donations can be made to three funds for the Brassards:
. TD Bank, 1886 Dover Road, Epsom NH 03234. Checks can be made out to the Brassard Family Fund, Account # 9245046704. Donations with that information will be accepted at any TD Bank branch.
. Triangle Credit Union, 33 Franklin St., Nashua NH 03064. A 501(c)3 account has been set up to receive tax deductible contributions with checks made out to Brassard Fund, account # 662480.

Wounded MBTA police officer Richard "Dic" Donohue, who remains hospitalized, has ties to New Hampshire because his wife, Kimberly, is an Exeter High School grad and they married here.
Fellow classmates at Virginia Military Institute, where Donohue graduated in 2002, set up a fund to assist the Woburn, Mass., man and his family, including his 7-month-old son.
Mike Judge, who graduated from VMI a year ahead of Donohue, said the fund can be accessed at http://igg.me/p/390350/x.
One of Donohue's classmates, Ron Hull, said: "VMI Class of 2002 has raised over $38K."
The support page for Jeff Bauman, www.gofundme.com/BucksforBauman, had $605,831 in donations by Monday afternoon.
A special chocolate dessert at the Bedford Village Inn - where Bauman's stepmother, Csilla, was the restaurant manager for 15 years - raised a total of $13,200 over the weekend, general manager Jon Carnevale said.
Customers at the Fox Run Mall, Newington; Mall of New Hampshire, Manchester; Mall at Rockingham Park, Salem; Pheasant Lane Mall, Nashua, and the Merrimack Premium Outlets are being encouraged to make donations to One Fund Boston through May 31 at Simon Guest Services.
