NH State Police assisting with Boston investigation


CONCORD – New Hampshire State Police has deployed assets to the Boston area to assist authorities there in the investigation into Monday's bombing at the Boston Marathon.

The assets are from the State Police Special Weapons and Tactics Unit (SWAT) and the Explosives Ordnance Disposal Unit (EOD). This deployment was made at the request of the Massachusetts State Police, in support of the ongoing security efforts in Watertown.

The request for assistance came though NESPAC, New England State Police Administrators Compact and was authorized by Gov. Maggie Hassan. State police, in conjunction with its local and county law enforcement partners, continue to maintain a high state of readiness in New Hampshire.
