Area police advise residents to remain calm

SOMERSWORTH – As police around Eastern Massachusetts continue to look for one of the men connected to the explosions at the 117th Boston Marathon, local departments want to reassure area residents.

While no officers from Somersworth Police Department have responded to aid efforts, Capt. David Kretschmar said the department continues to be vigilant as a precaution.

Capt. Paul Toussaint said there is no reason for area residents to be alarmed.

"We have no reason to believe Rochester will be affected by this search," Toussaint said.
