Federal prison for Manchester man convicted of dealing heroin

CONCORD - Willy Valentin, 27, of Manchester, was sentenced to 37 months in federal prison for dealing heroin.

Valentin, was sentenced Monday in U.S. District Court, on two counts of distribution of heroin.

He was arrested in October 2011, along with three other men, in a police raid of a 544 Somerville St. auto garage after neighborhood residents alerted police to heroin and cocaine being dealt out of the business on a daily basis.

Valentin's arrest came after an undercover investigation that included a confidential informant purchasing 1.13 grams of heroin from Valentin in August and September of 2011, according to a news release issued by the U.S. Attorney's Office.

At the time of his arrest, Valentin was on federal probation for prior drug convictions, authorities said.

The case was prosecuted by assistant U.S. Attorney Debra M. Walsh.
