Andover-area runners avoided the explosions

EAST ANDOVER – Two New Hampshire runners avoided the explosions that killed two and injured scores of others at the Boston Marathon Monday.


Maryn Barrett, 44, of East Andover said she had finished the race and was on her way home when she heard of the blast.


"I had already gone through," she said "I finished before it all happened, thankfully," she said. "It's so sad.



Brian Reynolds, 44, of Andover, will be staying in Massachusetts as planned before returning home Tuesday, his father said


"He got through about an hour-and-a-half before it happened," he said.
