College Roundup: SNHU baseball team tops St. Anselm
The Penmen broke open the game with a five-run fifth inning. Goffstown's Riley Palmer had three hits, including one during the big fifth.
SNHU is 22-10, 5-3 in the Northeast-10, while the Hawks dropped to 13-18-1 and 2-6.
Keene State 6, Westfield State 4: Tyler Estevez collected the game-winning RBI by hitting a double in the ninth inning to lift Keene State College over Westfield State University in a non-conference game.
Keene State improved its record to 11-15 overall.
Colby-Sawyer 1-1, Lyndon 0-0: In New London, juniors Kevin Keith and P.J. Singster of Sandown each threw shutouts as the Chargers swept a doubleheader. Keith allowed three hits and struck out seven. Singster allowed five hits and fanned five. Colby-Sawyer is 10-10.
Daniel Webster 2, Lesley 1: In Nashua, the hosts prevailed when Kyle Brigham of Hudson led off the ninth by being hit by a pitch, then eventually came home on a Tyler Bonin (Litchfield) grounder.
Keene State 13, Plymouth State 11: At Keene, senior midfielder Lauren Brown scored five goals and fellow senior midfielder Nicole Curry added four in the win for Keene State.
Plymouth State 21, Framingham State 2: In Framingham, PSU received goals from 12 different players in the rout. Marie Lander of Ossipee notched three goals and an assist to lead the way for the Panthers, 6-2. Shannon Connerty of Nashua added two goals.
Keene State 11/6, Westfield State 0/0: At Keene, Greenland's Mariah Crisp and sophomore Katie Newell pitched shutouts and Owl bats collected 20 hits in KSC's doubleheader sweep. Keene State (11-8) has won six of its last seven games.
