NHIAA Roundup: Trinity softball team triumphs

Katie Pelton fired a complete game two-hitter as Trinity of Manchester defeated host Oyster River of Durham 12-2 in a Division II softball contest Wednesday.

Allie Bowe had two hits and scored three runs for the 2-0 Pioneers. Pelton helped her own cause by getting four hits with three RBIs. Michelle Taylor also had three hits and three RBIs to pace Trinity's 14-hit attack.

Winnacunnet 3, Nashua South 2: In Hampton, Kali Hume tossed a five-hitter in the season-opener for Winnacunnet.

Plymouth 7, Hanover 3: In Plymouth, the Bobcats (2-0) pulled away with a pair of runs in the fourth inning. Hanover (0-2) opened the scoring with three runs in the third inning.

Concord 2, Central 0: In Manchester, Dani Morrill and Molly Emerson each collected a hit and an RBI to help Concord win its Division I opener.

Dover 8, Bishop Guertin 7: In Dover, the Green Wave rallied with a couple of runs in the home seventh to win their opener.

Timberlane 10, Merrimack 4: In Merrimack, Masha Lange led the Owls with two homers.

Baseball

Nashua North 4, Bedford 3: At Bedford, Nashua North led 4-0 entering the bottom of the fifth, and held on to post its first Division I victory. North's Zach Smith pitched six innings to collect the win. The Titans received three hits from Brendan Martin.

Belmont 13, Franklin 4: In Belmont, Jake Jameson collected one hit and an RBI for Franklin.

Souhegan 8, Lebanon 3: In Amherst, sophomore righthander Seth Learned pitched a complete game five-hitter. On 94 pitches, he fanned four and walked no one.

Merrimack 2, Timberlane 1: In Merrimack, Matt Wojciak allowed two hits and struck out nine over five innings. Conor Urquhart earned the save with two shutout innings. Dom Valluzzi had a hit and an RBI.

Trinity 8, Exeter 6: At Exeter, Alex Currier had three hits while Carmen Giampetruzzi, Ryan Boldwin and Ryan Slatky each had two for Trinity (1-1).

Goffstown 11, West 1: At Goffstown, Chris Hood and Alex Baines combined on a five-inning no-hitter. Zach Storro, Pat Viviers, Nick Larose, Tim Riehl and Chris Garrison each had two hits for the Grizzlies.

Pembroke 5, Coe-Brown 5: At Manchester, Seth Gonya scored on a double-steal in the eighth inning as Pembroke prevailed in a Division II game played at Northeast Delta Dental Stadium. Shane St. Onge had three hits and scored twice for Pembroke (2-0).

Boys' lacrosse

Pelham 10, West 3: In Manchester, Keston Beauregard had seven goals for 2-0 Pelham and Zach Ziemba tallied twice for 0-2 West.
