Sons of American Revolution wreath-laying
DUNBARTON - The Sons of the American Revolution will lay a wreath at the statue of Maj. Caleb Stark on the town common about noon on Sunday, April 14.
Short remarks will be followed by a musket salute. Attendees will be able to pose for photos with several Revolutionary War re-enactors, including Gen. John Stark (Richard Wright) and Molly Stark (Gina Gerhard) by the statue.
The town common is located at Robert Rogers Road and Stark Highway South in Dunbarton.
Caleb Stark was the first child of Gen. John and Molly Stark and was born in Dunbarton at the home of his grandfather; the house is now know as the Molly Stark House.
Goffstown Mothers Club to hold yoga class
GOFFSTOWN - The Mothers Club will hold an introduction to yoga class at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, April 17, in the high school media center.
Those who have mats should bring them. The club has some extras for those without mats.
Francestown Garden Club plans April 23 meeting
FRANCESTOWN - The Francestown Garden Club will have its second meeting of 2013 at 7 p.m. Tuesday, April 23, in the lower level of the Community Church.
The program will feature Cynthia Nichols of the University of New Hampshire Cooperative Extension Service's Speaking for Wildlife series. Beth's talk is on "Birds, Bats and Butterflies," with a subtopic of "Keeping Common Wildlife Common."
This talk highlights a dozen wildlife species commonly seen in New Hampshire and the need to be aware and observant if these species are to be with us for a long time in the future. Learn cool animal facts and find out about how the diverse mix of habitats in our region supports these species.
Admission is free and all are welcome. Better yet become a member for $10 and enjoy all programs offered by the garden club..

Bedford Rotary to hold Italian Fest fundraiser
BEDFORD - The Bedford Rotary Club will host its 35th annual Italian Festival and Pasta Night fundraiser from 5 to 8 p.m. Saturday, April 13, in the Bedford High School cafeteria. Tickets are $10, with children younger than 5 admitted for free and are available from club members, at the door or by calling 641-0363.
'Stratham Road Show' set for April 14
STRATHAM - The Stratham Historical Society will host its 22nd annual Spring Appraisal Day, (known to its members as the "Stratham Road Show"), on Sunday, April 14, from 1 to 3 p.m. in the Morgera Room of the Stratham Fire Station, at the corner of Portsmouth Avenue and Winnicutt Road.
The cost of appraisals is $4 for one item; $6 for two items; and $11 for five items. The proceeds will go toward maintaining the society's collections and other related expenses.
