NHIAA Roundup: Derryfield boys run past Trinity in lacrosse

Arthur Krogman tallied four goals and Jimmy O'Brien had four assists as host Derryfield beat Trinity of Manchester, 19-4 in boys' lacrosse on Tuesday.

For Trinity, Will Shephard and Tyler Tambouris each had one goal and one assist. Winning goalie Mitch Green made 12 saves, while Trinity's Austin Kolden (9 saves) and Ben Beals (3) combined in net.

Goffstown 10, Keene 6: In Keene, Jack Carney tallied four goals and two assists for the Grizzlies, who trailed 4-1 after the first quarter. Troy Simpson scored a hat trick in the win. Keene was led by Logan Carsten with two goals and one assist.

Girls' lacrosse

Souhegan 17, Hollis/Brookline 4: Madison Learned had five goals and three assists as the Sabers got off to promising start in the season opener. Mickenzie Larivee and Jesse Jay each had three goals and two assists for the winners. Eve Lingaitis had two goals to lead the Cavaliers.

Bishop Guertin 19, Bow 9: The Cardinals won the season opener behind Caley Prunier and Nicole Pettiglio, who each scored four goals and added an assist. Jess Lambert and Callie Santos contributed three goals each, Averi Farhat had a goal and three helpers, and Kristin Cameron notched two goals and one assist.

Softball

Laconia 17, Newfound 0: Laconia pitchers combined for seven strikeouts and yielded only three hits in a home win over Newfound of Bristol on Tuesday.

Carolyn Miller collected two hits, Shannon Somers one for a single for the Bears.

Campbell 8, Raymond 4 (Monday): Amber Gibbons and Gianna Cataldo had back-to-back home runs in the sixth inning as Campbell of Litchfield defeated host Raymond in Division III softball action on Monday.

The Cougars (1-0) rallied for five runs in their explosive sixth inning.

Winning pitcher Olivia Martinage pitched a solid game, notching seven strikeouts and allowing two walks. Raymond's defense turned three double plays in the contest.
