Man accused in Plaistow Walmart assault arrested for another, older incident in Salem

SALEM - A Haverhill, Mass., man awaiting trial on charges he sexually assaulted a girl in the toy department at the Plaistow Walmart in March has been arrested again, this time for a similar case dating back to the fall of 2011 that happened at the Salem Walmart.

Ronald R. Beausoleil, 33, of 972 Amesbury Road, Haverhill, Mass., was being held on $50,000 cash bail after the March 11 incident in the Plaistow Walmart.
Police in that case said Beausoleil approached a young girl in the toy aisle and touched her buttocks and genital area. He faces two counts of aggravated felonious sexual assault. Beausoleil is a Level 3 sex offender in Massachusetts who was convicted of indecent assault and battery on a child under the age of 14 in 1999 in Grafton County and convicted again in 2007 of attempted open and gross lewdness and lascivious behavior.
The Salem case dates back to Sept. 19, 2011, when a young girl reported that a man exposed himself in the Walmart at 314 N. Broadway.
At the time, police circulated the security video and still photos in that case, with no results. Last month, Salem Police Sgt. Thomas Kench and Detective Michael White reviewed the details of the Plaistow case, and Kench obtained a photo of Beausoleil from the security camera, realizing the suspect in that case resembled the man in the Salem investigation.
An analyst with the Massachusetts Sex Offender Registry helped White put together a photo lineup, and the victim, who was 8 years old at the time of the incident, as well as an adult witness, identified Beausoleil.
Salem Police arrested Beausoleil Thursday on a felony warrant for indecent exposure, and he was arraigned at Salem District Court and held on an additional $10,000 cash bail.
