Manchester police deem suspicious device dangerous

MANCHESTER — State police analyzing a suspicious device discovered Thursday believe it was dangerous but haven't confirmed it was a pipe bomb, Manchester police said Saturday.

State police ordnance workers took the device to Concord for analysis, Lt. James Soucy said Saturday.

"They'll evaluate the makeup of the device," Soucy said. "They believe it was a dangerous device. They just don't know to what degree."

Police closed Maryland Avenue for about two hours Thursday while the state police bomb squad removed the device.
