Danville man guilty in crash death of Derry teen

BRENTWOOD – A Danville man was found guilty on all charges that he caused the fatal car crash in Derry that killed 17-year-old Korey Traficante in November 2010 after his car went off Frost Road in Derry and flipped on its side.

Cameron Dearborn, 19, sobbed as the jury foreman read off the guilty verdicts on two counts of negligent homicide and a single count of driving under the influence.

Defense lawyer Kenneth Bernard asked to poll jurors after the decision so they would individually have to announce their verdict.

Judge N. William Delker revoked Dearborn's bail at the request of county prosecutors.

Assistant County Attorney Stephanie Johnson said that while free on bail, Dearborn was arrested for hosting an underage drinking party in June and was found to be in possession of marijuana.

Dearborn, who testified in his own defense on Thursday, also had friends over the night he took a friend's 1998 Saturn and crashed with Traficante as his passenger.

"He has no regard for any orders set by the court," Johnson said.

Bernard disputed the details of Dearborn's latest arrest, saying no one was home when Danville police arrived at the house.

Dearborn was convicted of three felonies, and faces up to 7 ½ to 15 years in state prison on the most serious charge.

"Can I please say goodbye? I didn't do anything," a red-faced Dearborn said while being led away by deputy sheriffs.
