NH College Roundup: Keene State stickmen falter in lacrosse showdown

The Keene State College men's lacrosse team suffered its first loss of the season, dropping a 10-8 non-conference game to Bates College in a battle of top regional teams at the Owl Athletic Complex Tuesday.

The Owls (5-1) are ranked ninth in the most recent NEILA poll. The Bobcats (5-3) are ranked fifth in New England, Keene State was led by two goals from J.T. Galloway.

Men's lacrosse

Hofstra 11, Dartmouth 9: In Hempstead, N.Y., battling the nation's 14th-ranked team, the Big Green (2-5) dropped their third straight match, Dartmouth's Jake Weil netted his first hat trick of the season.

Lasell 16, Daniel Webster 2: In Newton, Mass., Lasell claimed its first Great Northeast Conference victory. Daniel Webster slipped to 1-3 on the year and 0-3 in conference play.

Women's lacrosse

Stonehill 23, Franklin Pierce 6: In Easton, Mass., Ashley Lamagdeleine and Courtney Weber had two points each for the Ravens.

Honors

Dartmouth: Michael Johnson was selected as the Ivy League Pitcher of the Week.

In softball Katie McEachern picked up Ivy League co-player of the week and rookie of the week honors.

Colby-Sawyer: The women's basketball team was honored by the New Hampshire NCAA Division III Coaches Association. Senior Taylor DeSanty was named player of the year for the third consecutive season. Senior Cailin Bullett was named to the first team.

Sophomore Kelsey Cahill was named to the second team. Head coach George Martin was named NH Division III coach of the year for the seventh time.

SNHU: Cameron Joyce of the men's lacrosse garnered Northeast-10 Conference rookie of the week honors. Ellie Morin of the women's lacrosse team was named the Northeast-10 player of the week. Alena Mukdaprakorn of the women's tennis team earned Northeast-10 Conference player of the week.

St. Anselm: Jane Bunn and Caitlin Villareal of the women's lacrosse team received weekly Northeast-10 awards. Bunn earned the goalkeeper of the week award and Villareal netted her first rookie of the week honor.

St. Michael's: In women's lacrosse, Taylor Midgley of Hampton was named to the Northeast-10 Conference weekly honor roll.

Plymouth State: Lorin Field of Hollis was named ECAC Division III New England Women's Lacrosse Defensive player of the week.
