LINCOLN, NH (March 20, 2013) – New England Disabled Sports will host a ski and snowboard day for wounded veterans at Loon Mountain Resort on Friday, March 22.

Organized in partnership with Disabled Sports USA, the event gives wounded servicemen and women the chance to ski and snowboard with their comrades and instructors from New England Disabled Sports. All veterans and their families will receive individualized adaptive instruction, adaptive equipment, transportation, lodging, and meals - free of charge. Many of the participating veterans were wounded in combat in Iraq or Afghanistan.

"This annual event has become one of the most exciting events of the year in New Hampshire and the experience can often be life changing for these veterans," said Geoff Krill, sports director of New England Disabled Sports.

The event is made possible by a grant from Disabled Sports USA's Warfighter Sports Program, Anthem Blue Cross Blue Shield Foundation, and Raytheon. Volunteers from GE Aviation of Lynn, Mass. will assist during the event.
