Kerr, Preston elected in Barnstead

BARNSTEAD – In a tight race for two seats on the board of selectmen, challenger Gordon Preston was elected to an open seats and incumbent David Kerr was re-elected.

Preston had 298 votes and Kerr had 276 votes. Challengers Bethany Drew (206 votes), Joyce Parsons (109 votes), Timothy Shea (53 votes) and Shelly Vardaro (32 votes) fell short.

In the race for two three-year seats on the school board, Eunice Landry's 267 votes Kathy Grillo's 243 votes won. David Finethy (142 votes), David Brown (141 votes), Kevin Genest (90 votes) and Kathy Preston (10 votes) came up short.

In the race for a one-year school board seat, Keith Couch won with 315 votes to Kevin Genest's 148 votes.
