Dougherty loses reelection bid in Jackson

JACKSON - Selectman Jerry Dougherty IV lost his reelection bid to write-in candidate Bill Lockard, 208 votes to 181.
Lockard announced he was running after former Selectman Gino Funicella withdrew from the race after the filing period was closed. Funicella's name still appeared on the ballot, and he got four votes.
Dougherty was the subject of a grievance filed in February 2012 by former town office manager Diane Falcey. A firm investigated the complaint but no action was taken against Dougherty. The findings have not been disclosed to the public.
Falcey was fired by the board after bringing more complaints to the selectmen during an open meeting.
