Police respond to Laconia disturbance

LACONIA — Police were called to the scene of a fight in the driveway of a Mechanic Street home Saturday evening, but got little cooperation from those involved, according to a press release.
The disturbance was reported about 5:20 p.m. by a caller who said one person might have a firearm. When police arrived, no gun was found but officers did seize a claw hammer.
Police said a 39-year-old man, identified as Leslie Neblett of Laconia, suffered non-life-threatening injuries in the fight and was taken to Lakes Region General Hospital for treatment. Police said Neblett had gone to 310 Mechanic Street looking for someone who was not home and got into a fight after refusing to leave.
But the press release said those involved in the incident were "uncooperative" and would not provide details about what happened.
Police asked anyone with further information about the incident to contact police at 524-5252 or Greater Laconia Crimeline at 524-1717.
