Rider Arthur's 'Mission Capistrano Fountain' is on view
ON VIEW: Rider Arthur's 'Mission Capistrano Fountain' is on display at the Museum of Art at the University of New Hampshire in Durham. With California awash in warmth and rays, artists in the late 19th and 20th centuries set out to capture the play of light on the landscape. The resulting California Impressionism, or California plein air painting, is spotlighted in a traveling exhibition from the Irvine Museum at the Museum of Art, which is located in the Paul Creative Arts Center on campus. The exhibition runs through Thursday, March 28, however it will be closed during school break March 8-17. It features 35 works from a pool of painters that also includes Franz A. Bischoff (1864-1929), Donna Schuster (1883-1953) and Thaddeus Welch (1844-1919). For more information, log onto unh.edu/moa.
