Online homebuyer education debuts
"Becoming a Homeowner," a free course located at Education.GoNewHampshireHousing.com, provides both first-time homebuyers and previous homeowners looking to re-enter the market with the latest information about the home buying process.
Topics covered by the course include preparing for homeownership, financing a home, purchasing a home and closing.
Users can also register and take a 25-question, end-of-course test to receive a certificate of completion that can be used toward homeownership counseling requirements for programs such as New Hampshire Housing's Home Preferred mortgage. The course is compatible with tablet computers and also features extra tools and resources, and contact information for HUD-approved housing counselors by location.
