Londonderry's South Elementary celebrates the season of giving
LONDONDERRY - The spirit of the season was alive and well Saturday morning, when dozens of children gathered at South Elementary School to meet Santa and help make the holidays brighter for those less fortunate.
A popular event hosted by the school's Parent Teacher Association each year, the Santa Breakfast offered festive activities, including a pancake breakfast, a candy cane walk, raffles, games and photos with St. Nick.
Those attending the event were encouraged to give back this season by choosing an ornament off the "Adopt A Family" tree, which gives families the chance to anonymously purchase gifts and food items for local families struggling this year.
The day concluded with a raffle of over $2,000 worth of goods and event passes, donated by businesses.
