As search for her body is suspended, family of 'Lizzi' Marriot says 'We want just to bring her home'

Family and friends of 19-year-old Elizabeth &#';Lizzi&#'; Marriott just want to bring her home, but as of Sunday, her body had not been found.

Today the New Hampshire Attorney General's office will discuss the &#';viability&#'; of future searches for the University of New Hampshire sophomore, Assistant Attorney General Jane Young said.

Karate instructor Seth Mazzaglia, 29, is scheduled to be arraigned on a second-degree murder charge this morning in Dover District Court.

Police stopped their search for Marriott's body on and around Peirce Island in Portsmouth, but Assistant Attorney General James Vara said authorities &#';are doing everything possible to find her body and follow up with any information we obtain.&#';

Friends of Marriott are still trying to understand what could have happened.

&#';She got along with everybody,&#'; said Dawn Downey of Westborough, Mass., whose 19-year-old daughter, Nicole, is a childhood friend.

Downey said she fears Marriott may have been &#';too trusting.&#';

&#';I know there are evil people out there. We just want some answers,&#'; she said Sunday.

Marriott had been living with family members in Chester for just over a year while attending Manchester Community College. She transferred to UNH this semester.

A frantic search began after her disappearance last week. Her final text message was sent to a friend in Massachusetts around 8:55 p.m. Tuesday. In an interview Friday, her father, Bob Marriott, said the message said only that she was planning to visit a female friend at an apartment on Mill Street in Dover.

Mazzaglia listed 1 Mill Street, Apt. 341, as his address on a personal website, and police had that apartment cordoned off Saturday after his arrest was announced.

At Saturday's news conference, Vara said Marriott knew Mazzaglia, but he declined to elaborate. Family and friends said Mazzaglia is connected to Marriott's friend in Dover. Marriott began working at Target in the summer, which is where she met the friend from Dover whom she was supposed to visit Tuesday night, according to family and friends. That friend recently quit her job at Target.

Downey has known Marriott since she was a little girl who befriended her daughter.

They've been close ever since and shared many memories together, including junior prom, when Downey rented a limousine for the girls and Marriott was named prom queen.

&#';She always had a big smile on her face,&#'; Downey said.

Marriott, a marine biology major at UNH, was pursuing a passion that took her to the New England Aquarium in Boston, where she volunteered during high school in Westborough.

Like others who cared for Marriott, Downey hopes her body is found soon to bring some sense of closure.

&#';We want just to bring her home and bury her,&#'; she said.
