Marlborough man charged in fatal Amherst crash
AMHERST - A Cheshire County man faces a charge of negligent homicide after his SUV drifted over the center of Route 101-A and hit a car head-on, causing a three-car collision, police said.
John Hayden, 46, of Marlborough, was westbound in a Honda Pilot when the car drifted over and hit a Dodge Neon driven by Robert Tiedemann, 48, of Milford around 6 p.m. Monday. Tiedemann's car was then hit by another eastbound vehicle.
Amherst police said Tiedemann died of injuries sustained in the accident.
Hayden was treated for unspecified injuries at St. Joseph Hospital in Nashua. He was arrested and charges with negligent homicide and was to be arraigned at Milford District Court at a later time, police said.
