NASHUA — Seniors face a critical decision about where to live when they become less physically or financially able to remain in their current home.
That's the focus of the next Seniors Count-Nashua workshop — “Making Your Move: Tips on How, When and Where to Look for New Housing Options.”
The free workshop will begin at 1 p.m. Monday, Aug. 13, at the Nashua Senior Activity Center, 70 Temple St.
Ruthanne Oczkowski, a referral specialist for Service-Link of Hillsborough County, will present the workshop.
Advance registration is requested; call Beth Todgham, Seniors Count-Nashua facilitator for Southern New Hampshire Services, at 889-3440 ext. 629 for more information.
Seniors may arrive early to attend lunch offered by St. Joseph Community Services — Meals on Wheels between 11:45 a.m. and 12:45 p.m. in the center's cafeteria. A $2 donation is requested for diners 60 and older; the price is slightly higher for those under 60. Preregistration for lunch is required; call Steve, SJCS site manager, at 882-2106.
The workshop is one of a series of Seniors Count-Nashua's free monthly programs at the center offering information on community resources as people age. The programs have been filmed by Nashua's Education Channel 99 and are broadcast at 1 p.m. Mondays and can be viewed online at http://nashua.ezstream.com.
MANCHESTER — The Manchester Department of Parks and Recreation's senior shuffleboard group has named the top scorers from its weekly competitions last month.
June 5: Mary Lessard, 296; Claire Vanasse, 284; Simone Joyal, 258; and Pauline Thibeault, 248.
June 12: Roland Lavigne, 357; Gail Bartoshevich, 336; Paul Ouellet, 330; and Thibeault, 268.

The AARP Driver Safety Program has several driving refresher courses scheduled next month. The two-part class, which is open to any age driver but geared to people over 50, costs $12 for AARP members and $14 for nonmembers. Preregistration is required.
The course is a combination of discussion and videos; there are no written or driving tests.

MERRIMACK — St. Joseph Community Services — Meals on Wheels says it urgently needs volunteers to deliver meals to homebound senior citizens and disabled adults in Manchester, Bedford, Merrimack and Milford.
Volunteers makes the deliveries between 10:30 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. Monday through Friday.

LITTLETON — Seniors at the Littleton Area Senior Center, 77 Riverglen Lane, will take a road trip Friday to the Plymouth Area Senior Center for an 11 a.m. brunch and then travel to Laconia's Pittman's Freight Room to see the play “On Golden Pond.”
The group also will meet the author and play's director, Ernest Thompson.
The bus will leave the Littleton center at 9:45 a.m. and is expected back by 5:30 p.m. The cost is $26, which is due upon registration. For more information, call the center at 444-6050.
CANAAN — The Mascoma Area Senior Center, 1166 Route 4, will host its annual pancake breakfast fundraiser from 7 to 11:30 a.m. Sunday as part of Canaan Old Home Days.
The cost is $5. The all-you-can-eat menu also includes scrambled eggs, sausage, beverages and spiced apple and blueberry sauces for the pancakes, along with real maple syrup.
At the end of the breakfast, the center will draw the winner of a raffle for a Keurig single-serve beverage brewing system valued at $100 and a $100 gift card for a choice of K-cups. Proceeds will support the center's bus and meal service. Tickets, which are $5 each or three for $10, are available at the center on weekdays and at Canaan Hardware. They also will be sold during the breakfast. It's not necessary to be present to win.
The Mill Band will entertain with old-time music during lunch on Tuesday, Aug. 7.
The center plans its annual adventure at Canaan Street Lake, including a picnic and boat rides, on Tuesday, Aug. 21. The rain date for the boat rides is Thursday, Aug. 23. The deadline to sign up is noon Thursday, Aug. 16, at the center or by calling 523-4333.
CONCORD — The Centennial Senior Center, located at West Street Ward House, 41 West St., offers classes to help keep seniors strong.
Gentle yoga, a mostly chair-based class, is scheduled from 1:15 to 2 p.m. Tuesdays. It's appropriate for all ability levels. The first class is free, and then the cost is $3 per class. No special clothes are required.
Stretching and strengthening, a low-impact cardio and core-muscle building chair-exercise program, is offered at 3:45 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays. This class is free.
No preregistration is required for either class. For more information, contact the center at 228-6630 or info@centennialcenter.org.

A free blood pressure/blood glucose screening clinic and the Ask a Nurse program will be offered at the center from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. Friday.
VNA foot care clinics are scheduled for 12:30 to 3:30 p.m. this Friday and from 1 to 3 p.m. Friday, Aug. 10. The cost is $20. A doctor's order is required for diabetics. To schedule an appointment, call the Kearsarge Council on Aging at 526-6368.
