Two set to plead guilty in Salem home burglary

DiCHICCO

GREEN
BRENTWOOD — Two people allegedly caught emptying a Salem home of nearly all its valuables intend to plead guilty to burglary-related charges, according to court documents.

Michael Green, 37, of Salem and Robyn DiChicco, 29, of Lawrence, Mass., are scheduled for plea-and-sentencing hearings in Rockingham County Superior Court.

Salem police arrested Green and DiChicco while they were loading up their car in the driveway of a home on Hawkins Glen Road on the night of Feb. 1, prosecutors say.

Terms of the plea deal have not been made public, but the charges carry up to 3½ to 7 years in state prison.

DiChicco is scheduled to make her plea on Aug. 22. She was indicted on charges of burglary, theft by unauthorized taking and possession of a controlled drug.

Green is scheduled to appear in court on Sept. 23. He was indicted on charges of burglary, theft by unauthorized taking and resisting arrest.

Salem police were called to the home at 62 Hawkins Glen Road by neighbors who noticed Green and DiChicco loading up their car with valuables after they pulled into the driveway, according to police.

Neighbors knew the homeowners were on vacation and called Salem police around 11:53 p.m.

When police arrived, they found a silver car the couple allegedly drove to the home packed from floor to ceiling with a large screen TV, coats, a toaster, jewelry and food.

Diamond earrings, valuable coins and gold were also taken from the house, police said.

DiChicco exited the house and was taken into custody after police arrived. Green refused to come out, police said.

Officers struggled with Green inside the home before taking him into custody.

Police found several stolen items in Green’s pocket, including a class ring and a desk paperweight for a 1957 Lawrence High School Hall of Fame inductee, police said.

Green was freed on $25,000 personal recognizance bail in June so he could enter a drug rehabilitation program, according to court records. He was on probation from a 2011 arrest on cocaine possession when police charged him with the burglary.

Green and DiChicco entered the house by smashing out the rear basement window, police said.
