TILTON – Police on Friday arrested three Brooklyn, N.Y. men who were wanted in several states, including New Hampshire, for allegedly committing a string of organized shoplifting crimes in Staples stores that netted them $100,000 over the past five days, police said. A fourth man is still being sought.

The four men were fleeing the Tilton Staples store when three were arrested. Store employees recognized their faces from a Staples Loss Prevention Bulletin which went out to store employees after the three arrested suspects and a fourth man allegedly committed organized retail crime at Staples stores in Nashua, Bedford and Manchester during the past 48 hours.

Tilton Police Chief Robert Cormier said they had committed thefts from Staples as far away as New Jersey in recent days.

The store employees had been warned by Staples employees at the Concord store that the men were headed to the Tilton stores, as the Concord store employees had recognized the men in their store and then saw them driving north, Cormier said.

A half-hour after the Tilton store was warned, the suspects were recognized in the Tilton store. When the suspects realized the store employees recognized them, one of them threw a “booster” bag, a special bag used by professional shoplifters, police said. The four suspects then ran out of the store and split up; two ran into neighboring stores, one into a vehicle and one fled toward Tanger Outlets, Cormier said.

Police received reports that two of the men ran into Shaw's, which abuts the Tilton Staples store. Witnesses said one of the suspects then fled out the employee fire exit at the back of the store, setting off an alarm as he ran down the tracks, Cormier said.

Officers on the scene began searching the area for the fleeing suspects. Plainclothes officers and police detectives stopped two of the suspects trying to flee in a vehicle with New York plates. Officers on foot found the third suspect behind the stores near the railroad tracks.

Arrested on felony organized retail crime charges were Daquain A. Dollar, 24, of 381 East 95th St., Brooklyn, N.Y.; Louissant Kashif Trumaine, 20, of 146 East 19th St., of Brooklyn, N.Y.; and Ronnell Samuals, 27, of 1405 Prospect Place 18A, of Brooklyn, N.Y.

The three suspects arrested were taken to Tilton Police Department, booked and held on $50,000 bail each. They were then taken to Belknap County Jail where they will be held until their arraignment on Monday at 9 a.m.

Still being sought by police is Dwayne Dollar, 27, of Brooklyn, N.Y., who is described as of medium build, 5 feet 8, wearing a black shirt or sweatshirt, a black ball cap and grey pants, police said.

Police from Belmont, Sanbornton, Northfield and N.H. State Police assisted Tilton police with search.
