Dental Society honors five of its best
CONCORD — The New Hampshire Dental Society paid tribute to five of the state's top dentists at its annual meeting in Meredith. The awards recognize their leadership, commitment to innovation and service to children, low-income and mentally ill populations.
Dr. A.J. Homicz of New Castle received the MacRury Award, the society's highest award. Homicz is the volunteer dental director for the Families First Health Center in Portsmouth, which serves low-income families in the Seacoast area.
Dr. John P. Ahern of Derry received the Charles Lambrukos Award for philanthropic service. Ahern has been instrumental in the success of the Derry school dental program.
Dr. Bryant Denk of Hanover received the President's Award. Denk practiced in Hanover for 37 years and today serves as a volunteer at the Red Logan Dental Clinic.
Dr. Thomas Timmons of Concord received the Community Service Award for his 39 years of work at the New Hampshire Hospital taking care of the state's most severely mentally ill patients.
Dr. Dave Pak received the Component President's Award. Pak is an oral and maxillofacial surgeon practicing in Rochester who has a diverse background with licenses and degrees in both dentistry and medicine.
