Two additional hepatitis testing sites available

CONCORD — Two additional sampling sites — one in Hampton, one in Portsmouth — have been opened to test Exeter Hospital patients who may be at risk for hepatitis, state health officials said.

The sites are available to patients who have received a letter that recommends they be tested as part of the outbreak. The sites are:

Ÿ PRH Collection Station, 55 High St., Suite 104, Hampton.

Ÿ PRH Collection Station, Pease International Tradeport, 26 Manchester Square, Portsmouth.

Both collection stations are open Monday through Thursday, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. and closed from 1 to 1:30 p.m.

“We have set up these additional locations in response to the public meeting on Friday night, where a number of people were asking if there was another option available for blood draws,” said Dr. Jose Montero, state public health director.

Patients must bring the letter that recommends the testing. The blood work will be sent to the state Public Health Lab. There will be no cost to patients who have received a letter from Exeter Hospital.

Anyone treated at the lab or its recovery room from Oct. 1, 2010, through May 25, 2012, is being urged to be tested.

State officials are contacting patients with test results as soon as they become available.
